Dear H block Residents:

Due to increasing Health and Safety Hazards and to protect your belongings from mould, humid and fluctuating temperatures and all your easy movable belongings (cloths, knick-knacks) will be packed up by professionals, guided and instructed by the insurance company of the Cathedral Place Body Corporate and will be securely stored by the Caretaker’s office till Saturday 1500, to be picked up only be the residents, themselves. Remains will be transferred into the insurance company’s secure storage facility in Banyo, QLD after Saturday 1500.

This process is undertaken as the last and best viable option available, after consulting all the specialists who are highly experienced and represent the organisations dealing with the situation. Please be co-operative with the caretaker who represents the body corporate and has the best interest of the residents. Caretaker is the only authoritative  personal who is available to discuss the matter.

G Block Residents: To move back into your unit, you MUST come to caretakers’ office between 0900 and 1600, fill out details, pick up your New Front Door KEY and receive specific instructions. (All inquiries via 07 3252 5126)

H Block Residents: To arrange, access to your unit, you MUST call in via 0409 591 255 to contact, Phillip Boydell, Site Project Manager of ICPS Aus Pty Ltd between 0900 and 1600.

G Block Residents: To move back into your unit, you MUST come to caretakers’ office between 0900 and 1600, fill out details, pick up your New Front Door KEY and receive specific instructions. (All inquiries via 07 3252 5126)

H Block Residents: To access to your units and grab ONLY your basic essentials (IDs, Cash, Medication), you MUST call in today (13/06) between 1300 and 1700 via 0449 881 600.

Update – Wednesday 12th of June 2013 – 0900

H Block Residents: To gain access to your units and to grab ONLY basic essentials (Cash, IDs, Medication), You MUST Call in and and Book, today (12 Jun 13) between 0900 and 1500.

G Block Residents: There will be a update on the website soon after midday on G Block, Please call in via 07 3252 5126 ONLY between 1300 and 1700, today (12 Jun 13)

Information for Owner Occupiers ONLY in H Block

The Body Corporate Insurance includes up to $1000 for emergency accommodation per unit. To substantiate a claim all accommodation receipts will need to be provided. To lodge a claim contact Tony Bemrose Insurance brokers please email tbib@tbib.com.au or call 07 3252 5254 during office hours.

The policy also includes a temporary accommodation benefit equivalent to what your unit would normally rent for. For residents of H Block we recommend you seek alternate accommodation through a real estate property manager.

For Landlords of units in H block

The Body Corporate Insurance includes cover for loss of rent claims due to the fire where your unit was rented and the tenant has had to move out. To lodge a claim contact Tony Bemrose Insurance brokers please email tbib@tbib.com.au or call 07 3252 5254 during office hours.

For Tenants of units in H block

It is anticipated that H block will be closed for the medium term. We recommend you contact your letting agent to make alternate accommodation arrangements.

Cathedral Place Caretaking

Update – Monday 10th June 2013 – 15.30

Preliminary inspections of both G & H blocks are underway. Insurance loss adjusters and property reconstruction professionals are on site.

No access will be granted to either G or H block. The building cannot be opened until deemed safe.

G block has sustained minor damage. Electrical and gas services remain disconnected and health and safety checks are under way. The building will not be re-opened today. Security guards have been posted on the building and no access will be granted at the present time. This situation will be assessed tomorrow.

H block has sustained major fire, smoke and water damage to the top floor and significant water damage to all other floors.

This building will remain closed for the medium term. Security guards have been posted on the building and no access will be granted at the present time. This situation will be assessed in 3 days’ time.

For any residents with contents insurance please contact your insurer as first point of contact.

Cathedral Place Caretaking

Update – Monday 10th June 2013 – 14.30

Dear Residents,

G and H block will remain closed and no access will be granted to any units until the building has been deemed safe.

G & H block displaced residents will need to contact the following 

·       Owner (occupied) – Tony Bemrose Insurance 0409 082 857 ask for Sean Bemrose and your personal insurance company

·       Owners (non occupied) – please contact your landlords insurance company

·       Tenants should contact their letting agent and their personal contents insurance company

Updates will be posted on the Cathedral Place website every hour until 6pm today.

A, B, C, D, E and F blocks are now open and power has been restored to most areas.

Please be advised the gas supply is currently being worked on will be reconnected as soon as possible. This also includes hot water.

Electricity and TV reception has also been effected and will be re-established when possible
